Turkwaz is looking forward to joining Al Qahwa for their Livestream CD Release Concert for their latest CD “African Routes”

This was postponed from April 9, 2021.

Al Qahwa is excited to celebrate the release their 3rd recording, African Routes, with guests Fethi Nadjem, Waleed Abdulhamid, and Roula Said. They will be joined by the women of Turkwaz (Maryem Tollar, Jayne Brown, Sophia Grigoriadis, Brenna MacCrimmon), who will do a short set of music as well as join Al Qahwa and their guests for a few songs. Roula Said will be adding dance to the night. This event is possible thanks to support from the Canada Council for the Arts, Explore and Create grant.

Turkwaz is looking forward to coming back to MabelleARTS after so many months in lockdown to serenade the community as they get their shots!

Turkwaz is excited to be doing an opening set for Al Qahwa’s celebration of their 3rd release “African Routes” at a Livestream Concert at Koerner Hall. They will be joining the group later in the evening, along with guest artists Fethi Nadjem, Waleed Abdulhamid and Roula Said for a few songs for a joyful evening of music and dance.

Turkwaz filmed 3 new music videos filmed by Ed Hanley and Cathy Ord in January 2020. Ed Hanley directed the shoot and each video represented a different tradition of music – Turkish, Greek and Arabic. The video premieres are on August 2, 2020.
