Turkwaz is presenting a series of 3 concerts, each with a different theme and guest. This third concert will feature the Greek-Turkish group Meltemi. This concert series was made possible with support from The Canada Council for the Arts, The Ontario Arts Council and The Toronto Arts Council.

His son Nazir Alimov will be joining on saxophone and his wife, Bergen Alimov will teach some dances that go with the music that Nizo will be presenting in the evening. Turkwaz is looking forward to joining Al Qahwa for their Livestream CD Release Concert for their latest CD “African Routes”
This was postponed from April 9, 2021.
Al Qahwa is excited to celebrate the release their 3rd recording, African Routes, with guests Fethi Nadjem, Waleed Abdulhamid, and Roula Said. They will be joined by the women of Turkwaz (Maryem Tollar, Jayne Brown, Sophia Grigoriadis, Brenna MacCrimmon), who will do a short set of music as well as join Al Qahwa and their guests for a few songs. Roula Said will be adding dance to the night. This event is possible thanks to support from the Canada Council for the Arts, Explore and Create grant.
Turkwaz is looking forward to coming back to MabelleARTS after so many months in lockdown to serenade the community as they get their shots!
